We are very pleased to invite the famous and fabulous, internationally renowned and respected Turkish dancer Ozgen for two very special workshops at Swansea's YMCA (theatre) Saturday 7 April.

Ozgen has performed, taught, choreographed and directed for the last 18 years. His reputation as a male belly dancer and teacher has taken him across the world. In Istanbul, he joined the cast of Night of the Sultans combining contemporary dance, ballet and oriental dance. Ozgen taught for several years at the Tolgahan Dance School in Istanbul, and is now based in London, teaching and performing Turkish Oriental and Romani (Gypsy) dance internationally. His successful touring musical "Tales Of A Sleeping Man" has been enjoyed by audiences across the globe and last year he received an award from Turkish Council for "The Best Ambassador Of Turkish Culture"

Ozgen's workshops will inspire everyone interested in dance, whether you are a belly dancer, cabaret performer or into burlesque, as his techniques will add to any dancer's repertoire of moves! In our opinion, you will be learning from one of the best in the business - there is no one who can handle a cloak, or finish a move off with a flourish of a hand and command the audience like Mr Ozgen!

Workshop 1: 1pm -3pm Wow Drum Solo
If you like drum solo and you want to wow your audience with powerful dance this is an amazing workshop to learn some hip moves and jazz it up with Ozgen's impressive hand and arm movement total show off style. Suitable for those with a basic grasp of belly dance moves

Workshop 2: 3.30-5pm Gypsy Dance With Skirt
Join Ozgen in this amazing Turkish Romany dance, focusing on learning 9/8 rhythm and learning the basic steps for the dance. Fire up this dance - and your own creativity - with amazing skirt work! Total fun and cabaret style! Suitable for any dancer who likes skirt work and wants to show off! Please note, you will need to bring a full skirt for this workshop.

Workshops are £25 each or £45 if attending both

What to wear: please wear some comfortable clothing suitable for dance/movement. Soft soled shoes are advised. You might also want to bring a bottle of water as these workshops will be hot! Your paypal receipt acts as your ticket to the workshops.
